Numerical calculation and experimental study on friction and lubrication of Stirling engine piston ring

چکیده

To solve the practical problem of Stirling engine piston ring, numerical model on friction and lubrication were established based average Reynolds equation theory. Numerical calculation results show: rings are in mixed state which gas film micro-convex body contact existing simultaneously; pressure is 2 orders magnitude less than pressure; approximately linearly related to mean pressure. Simulated test rig was built experimental high-pressure working leak intermediate chamber through rings, drops sharply at lowest circulation; ring wear increases when rotational speed or increase. The accuracy proved by phenomena data.

Experimental study of piston scuffing effect on engine performance parameters

Piston scuffing is one of the destructive faults in internal combustion (IC) engines. There are different causes to make this fault that lack of lubricant is the most important one among them. The purpose of this paper is the quantitative study of the piston scuffing effects on the engine performance parameters which is a new research direction in the IC engine filed. For this reason, several e...

Crankshaft Offset and it’s Impact on Piston and Piston Ring Friction Behavior

Increasing fuel economy in modern passenger car engines has become one of the primary development targets, due to swiftly increasing raw oil prices. Initially, vast progress was achieved in the development of the combustion process. Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) has been one of the keys to success; however, further potential is now being investigated. Currently, the primary focus of engine d...

Influence of varying timing angle on performance of an SI engine: An experimental and numerical study

Engine performance depends on two main factors of engine speed and ignition time. Ignition timing can affect engine life, fuel economy and engine power. In this paper, to study engine performance of Peugeot 206 TU3A with comparison ratio of 10.5:1 and displacement of 1361CC in MATLAB software, a two-zone burned/unburned model with the fuel burning rate described by aWiebe function was used for ...
